Vector Magnetic Data Input into Global Models(Session 10) Session Summary

  • In this session, we will explore some aspects encountered when producing and using such data. Key questions include:

    • What uncertainties lie in the inversion and 180-degree disambiguation processes used to generate vector magnetograms?

    • What effects do these have on the calculation of physical quantities, such as current densities and helicities?

    • What should be avoided when using vector magnetogram data?

    • Time permitting, we will discuss some ideas related to the incorporation of solar vector magnetogram data into computational models of the solar corona.
