  2. *Definition* • To clarify means to stop and determine if what you’re reading makes sense. • Let’s discuss scenarios when we are reading and sometimes we have to stop because what we just read doesn’t make sense…….

  3. *Hot To Clarify* • STOP AND PAY ATTENTION. Summarize/explain what you have read. This is a great place to stop and check whether you understand the text or don’t. • Also, stop when you find the answers to any questions you have had; note them in the text so that you may revisit them later.

  4. *Hot To Clarify When We Don’t Understand* • If you don’t understand what you’ve read or you cant find the answers to questions you’ve had…… • Read on (and sometimes even reread) and your understanding may change and develop. • Take a few minutes to review what information you’ve been given and ‘piece’ it all together.
