  1. Cost-effective and eco-friendly Liquid packaging technology Today it’s feasible to package liquid products in flexible pouches. In addition to cutting storage and shipping costs, these rugged, leak-proof, flexible packages provide dramatic capabilities compared to conventional rigid containers. Edible oil filling and packing machinery and ghee pouch packing machines are therefore in vogue. Dairy product packaging has also come of age as the dairy manufacturers have shifted gears innovative packaging solutions in modern milk packaging process. Listed here are few advantages of flexible liquid packaging: 1.Easy-to-open, easy-to-close: A much wider range of opening treatments, fitments, and closures is available today than ever before, including linear tear characteristics, re-closable zippers that don’t require any tearing of the pouch header to open, and screw-on spouts for liquid pouches. 2.New categories on the block: Tuna fish, pet food and other similar liquid foods are now packed in retort pouches after decades of can dominance. In some countries Baby food retort pouches are replacing glass jars. Flexible pouches are also being used for home and garden supplies such as fertilizers, where resealability is a key feature. 3.Future ahead: With ketchup being packed in flexible pouches other viscous liquids that can also be more efficiently evacuated from a pouch. Future expansion in soups, stocks, and canned fruit is on the cards. 4.Co-extrusion Layers: The addition of layers into a flexible packaging structure can lead to improvements in economics and functionality. It allows for more precise control of the layers. More converters are moving to seven and nine-layer co- extrusion lines that provide more flexibility for desired functionality, thickness, and cost without over-engineering the structure. 5.Shaped flexible Packaging: The current generation of form/fill/seal packaging is capable of producing various bag shapes and styles. Shaped pouches that cut a mostly two-dimensional, curvy shape have been out for years in other countries.

  2. Machinery manufacturers are working on efficient equipment for creating pouches with a conical or three-dimensional shape. 6.Retortable pouches: A retort package is literally “cooked” after it is filled at high- enough temperatures long enough to kill bacteria that can spoil food. Several factors influence the growth of retortable flexible packaging. They are easier to open than cans, weigh much less, and can have a smaller environmental impact versus metal cans and glass jars. 7.Growing product applications: With the advent of flexible packaging a host of new product applications is emerging: liquid, viscous, powdered, granulated, and particulate. This growth will include food and beverage, cosmetics, healthcare, pet foods, automotive, pharmaceutical, and agricultural in distant future. 8.Sustainable packaging: The carbon footprint of various packaging types has to consider many factors. For example, pouches save tremendous energy both in their production and transport. Big chunk of money can be saved in packaging material costs and due to simplifications of packaging systems such as the elimination of labeling, capping, etc. 9.Growing trend of Waste-to-Energy: WTE reduces air emissions, landfill loads, energy usage, and costs. Also, by reducing solid waste and generating energy that can be sold back to the local grid, organizations can help reduce energy costs community- wide. This revenue, in turn can be used for corporate social responsibility initiatives.
