  1. CAPTURING TIDAL ENERGY Seen here is an array of three twin turbine tidal current energy installations with the center installation raised for maintenance

  2. Probable Project Locations * Data obtained from a 2006 EPRI TISEC project report Western Passage Potential Tidal Power Generation in Maine Source:http://www.skypic.com Castine Harbor/Bagaduce Narrows Source: http://apollo.ogis.state.me.us/maps/

  3. Tidal Turbine Test Apparatus • VISION: • To complete the ground work necessary to begin Tidal Turbine research for application as an alternative energy source in the State of Maine APPARATUS Dynamometer for Drag Force on the Turbine OBJECTIVE: To develop re-applicable Power Curves of scaled down models of Tidal Turbines. Streamlined Keel • The apparatus will be bolted underneath the movable carriage to model tidal flow past the turbine in the 100’ Wave Tank. Apparatus Housing of instrumentation

  4. Test Setup Shown here is a rendering of a turbine prototype in the tow tank (minus the carriage)
