  2. What you will learn! How to identify and apply angle relationships.

  3. Vocabulary

  4. What you really need to know! Angles that have the same measure are called congruent angles.

  5. What you really need to know! Two angles are supplementaryif the sum of their measures is 180.

  6. What you really need to know! Two angles are complementaryif the sum of their measures is 90.

  7. What you really need to know! When two lines intersect, they form two pairs of opposite angles called vertical angles, which are always congruent.

  8. Vertical Angles! Up Left Right Down

  9. Example 1: Classify the pair of angles as complementary, supplementary, or neither. 128° 52°

  10. Example 2: x y Classify the pair of angles as complementary, supplementary, or neither.

  11. Example 3: Angles PQS and RQS are supplementary. If m PQS = 56°, find m RQS. 180° - 56° = m RQS 124° = m RQS

  12. Example 4: The rectangle shown is divided by a diagonal. Find the value of x. x 90° - 70° = x 20° = x 70°
