  1. Status Report # 2Commhut -Home Security Wire Protection SystemTeam 7Ronald, Robert, Orlando, JaimeAn interfacing module to communicate with previously designed protective case.

  2. Overall Need and Design Milestones • OVERALL NEED: To protect the communication lines of home security systems by detecting intrusion. • DESIGN MILESTONES: • Develop Detailed Schematics for interface (On going) • Receive sample code and sample products from Mr. Poston (Mid February) • Understand and test the Development Board for the PIC Microcontroller (2/13/09) • Meet with Travis Poston for updates on UL certification and other business oriented happenings. (2/4/09)

  3. Completed Tasks • Team meeting to discuss the duties of each member and further discussion of the case. (1/29/09) • Ordered the basic parts needed to test the penetration and tampering of the case.(1/30/09) • Ordered two different back up power supplies to be used for the modem and PIC. (1/30/09)

  4. Pending/Ongoing Tasks • Develop Functional Code to link modem with microcontroller. • Test protective case in all possible environments it might encounter. • Develop comparator circuit to trigger on a change in current received from a damaged or removed case. • Speak with a mechanical engineer to develop several samples of the case and create the demonstration environment.

  5. Tasks to Begin Next Week • Begin building the project test site. (2/11/09) • Make three different testing models. (2/13/09) • Start building the website. (2/9/09) • Begin on the power phase including back up power. (2/13/09)
