    1. Nutrition in Pregnancy Welcome to our session on nutrition in pregnancy! This presentation is part of a series of nutrition training sessions. The goal of these sessions is to train people in aboriginal communities to be able to teach others in their communities basic nutrition information. These presentations are designed to be interactive and we try to provide participants with tools and resources that they can use to teach others in their communities. Women should gain 0.5 to 1.0 pounds per week (0.2 – 0.5 kg) in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters Women should only gain the weight of the baby during pregnancy – about 8 pounds (3.6 kg). Obese women shouldn’t gain weight during pregnancy, they should try to lose weight The more weight you gain the healthier your baby will be.
