  7. More Than Relief from Problems • Christianity is primarily a relationship with the Creator. • God created man to be most satisfied, most joyful, and most useful when there is a personal relationship with his Creator.

  8. More Than Being on Speaking Terms • There must be much going on between my soul and the Savior.

  9. We Must Have a Desire for God • God has created in man the desire for Himself.

  10. David Brainerd “Of late God has been pleased to keep my soul hungry almost continually, so that I have been filled with a kind of pleasing pain. When I really enjoy God, I feel my desires of Him the more insatiable and my thirstings after holiness more unquenchable.”

  11. St. Augustine “Thou madest us for Thyself, and our heart is restless, until it repose [finds its rest] in Thee.”

  12. Psalm 42:1-2 “As the hart [deer] panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God.”

  13. Psalm 63:1 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.”

  14. Psalm 73:25-26 “Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

  15. Psalm 84:2 “My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.”

  16. We Must Have a Desire for God • God has created in man the desire for Himself. • God is glorified when man takes his place of joyful, grateful dependence. • Solving problems without God is both arrogant and ineffective.

  17. We Must Seek God • It must be a passionate search. • It must be a search for a person. • A Conversation with Coach

  18. Living in the Real World • Requires that a man know the God who has revealed Himself to us. • Renewing the mind starts right here—with God.
