12. 2012 Proposed Legislation We support the Taxi Industry and the proposed legislation and believe that anyone who accepts a taxi bookings should: A Licensed Taxi Network that complies with all city and state laws Service all people in communities equally and fairly not just the easy passengers to transport Ensure proper driver standards are maintained Ensure vehicles are safe, well maintained and properly licensed Publish their brand on the cars for complaints or comment Be able to accept complaints and be accountable to the travelling public and regulators for the service they deliver whether it be delays, poor drivers, vehicles, wrong routes, or over charging.
13. 2012 Proposed Legislation Not allow the wealthy to out bid and guarantee trips to take get a service ahead of less able people Ensure drivers service all of the community whether this involves 1. providing incentives to drivers at the cost of the Taxi Network or; 2. only offering drivers limited information until the trip is accepted and then once the driver has accepted the trip obliging drivers to do the trips in accordance with many cities ordance Be good corporate citizens – not just take from the community Have proper taxi meters which comply with standards Be accountable to Negligent entrustment Taxi Companies do all of this and Comply with Legislation Rogue Apps don’t.
