  1. Biodiversity: By : Desiree Williams April 7th 2011 Period Two:

  2. Panda Bears Are Endangered • Panda’s can be found in the wilderness area in china. • Panda bears eat bamboo. • Humans hunt panda bears for their coat.  • Panda bears have been known to be at risk of heart disease. • Most of the reasons why panda bears are endangered is because of humans. (Deforestation, Global Warming, etc.) • Scientists have predicted that the panda bear will be extinct by the year 2040  • All pandas in zoos have been given two names because it is a Chinese custom. • There are only about 700-1000 pandas alive in the world today • I chose a panda because they are so cute, and its really sad to see that they are being hunted by humans for fur especially when they are already endangered.

  3. Affect On Environment: • Having panda skin and two pandas in Japan is a sing of good luck. • They are good for Chinese art. • They are also very cute to look at in zoos  • Help keep the bamboo population down. • Not having panda bears Japanese beliefs will be cut short. • Chinese art would probably still be done, maybe not as popular. But their would be more bamboo for art. • None to look at in zoos  • Bamboo population would go up.

  4. Prevention Of Extinction • Gun control and the removal of resident humans from the reserves have begun to help the Panda bears, and have resulted in a little increase of population size. • They have also established many panda bear reserves in hope of maintain, or even increasing the population size of pandas. • Also, the panda bear is protected in all countries and hunting them for meat, fur or anything is illegal.

  5. What needs to be done to protect the panda bears? • Humans need to stop hunting them. Easy as that! • No fur, or meat is worth killing a cute little rare panda bear over, and that’s a fact! • The people who are putting up reserves are also contributing to help keep the panda bears around. God bless them for that♥ • Also, having the zoos reproduce these beautiful creatures.

  6. What led to endangerment: • Heartless, Careless people killing these animals for meat, and fur. • Natural disasters (Earthquakes) have contributed to loss of pandas, rescue teams have tried to save as many as possible however not all are capable of being saved  • Disease I'm sure, however I cannot find any of the diseases that effect pandas online.
