Notes: • HAAGA-HELIA’s work placement principles (Extranet > Opiskelu > Työharjoittelu) • Work placement covers 1-3 periods, 30 cr(Separate instructions for receiving credit for work placement by other means and by AHOT-procedure.) • Student attains work placement personally.Finding work placement opportunities and notifying students of work placement openings: HH/corporate register, fairs, career and recruitment services, company visits, HH contacts companies (telephone, e-mail), companies contact HH, students contact HH from work placement organisation, direct mail, extranet, jobstep, student initiative • Relevant number of work placement coordinators and task allocation:At least one campus-specific coordinator, possibly also a campus-specific international coordinator or an international coordinator shared by campuses, or a degree programme coordinator and degree programme international coordinator • Division of responsibilities among coordinators and counsellors: • e.g. work placement coordinators participate in process development on the HH level, assist work placement counsellors, hold info sessions, provide background info during courses, assist student before the student's work placement counsellor steps in, designate a work placement counsellor for the student, approve the work placement, coordinate the work placement process, cooperate with the student counsellor and HH offices, forward inquiries made by companies (e.g. to career and recruitment services), inform students about open work placement positions, compile work placement statistics, function as contact persons for companies; work placement counsellors provide guidance for students, visit the work placement location when needed and assess work placement performance (the coordinator can also be the counsellor) • Work placement quality is monitored via feedback, and work placement is developed both during the actual process and via degree programme development work.
