  1. THE CHILDREN OF LIR!

  2. A NEW FAMILY • Long time ago King Lir lived with his wife and four children. • Sadly his wife died and the kids and himself were heart broken. • King Lir remarried a lady named Aoife.

  3. Aoife was jealous of the four children because she thought King Lir loved them more. Obviously he did.

  4. So one day Aoife brought the kids for a swim in a lake. • When they were in the lake Aoife pulled out a wand a cast a spell on them. • The spell turned them into swans for 900 years.

  5. When the spell was cast Aoife told the king that the children had drowned. • The King was heartbroken .

  6. The swans spent 300 years in loch Derrevagh. • Another 300 years in sea of Moyle. • And they spent their last 300 years in the western sea.

  7. After the 900 years they heard a bell. • They swam over to a church where the bell was ringing. • There was a priest at the church some people say it was St. Patrick . • The bell must have represented the broken spell because they had turned back to humans .

  8. The priest blessed them and Finnualla hugged her brothers. • Then they all fell dead on the ground because they were so old. • The priest buried them with their mother and father .

  9. That night the man dreamt of the four swans flying up through the clouds to be with their mother and father again.

  10. THE END!!!! 
