  3. What was your first reaction to this image? • What is the first thing that catches your attention? • Do you get what the initial theme is?

  4. You see a cowboy and a dead horse the words explain the whole picture. Because without the words anything could have happened to the horse. But it explains the smoke from the cigarettes killed the horse. • The horse catches my attention first because it is black and really stands out in the bright colored photo. • What the initial theme is, is that people thinks it only bothers them but it doesn't it affects everything around people who smoke. This ad is trying to get people to quit smoking.

  5. How does this photo affect you? • Think of all the people you are around that smoke…

  6. This affects people more than they realize. Until a few years ago smoking was not banned in public buildings and restaurants, even though people would say non smoking the smoke circulates. So weather people wanted to breathe the smoke or not they was. • Now think how many people was smoking around you a few years ago... • Did you realize how much it really affected you?

  7. Where is it darkest at? • Did you notice how everything is bright except the horse? • What do you think of the cowboys body language?

  8. Notice in the picture how there is no dark anywhere. The only dark place is the horse because if the rest is bright it will catch your attention. I think the cowboy has realized what he has done, and the affect of it. I think that if people could see beyond the borders there would be open plains. Just to show people how bad the affects can really be.

  9. What appeals do you see? Ethos, Logos, Pathos…

  10. Ethos- Bottom left hand corner is the (CPAA) symbol. • Logos- the horse and the cowboy are the main characters In this photo. • Pathos- the audience could be portrayed to any group of people.

  11. Do you see the intention the illustrator was trying to show?

  12. The authors intention is that the smoke from a cigarette can kill just as fast as if the person was smoking it their self. So people should be considerate of other people, and their health instead of being all about their self
