What is AmeriCorps*VISTA • V.I.S.T.A. stands for Volunteers In Service To America • AmeriCorps*VISTA is a national and federal volunteer service program that helps to build capacity in communities trying to get out of poverty • VISTA volunteers do not do direct service, for example tutoring or mentoring. They create or build opportunities for direct service.
