  2. Intro Welcome, This presentation is about the band Daft Punk. Daft Punk has many achievements music wise. Daft Punk has been going on since the 90,s and are still just as good. Listen on to learn about this amazing duo!!!

  3. Who The artists I am doing are the group Daft Punk. The two members of this band are Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and of course the stage name of their group is obviously Daft Punk. The group assumed their name a bad review from Melody Maker said that their music was “a bunch of daft punk”. They took it humorously and officially decided to call their band Daft Punk. This awesome band has three record labels of which are: Soma, Virgin and Sony/Columbia.

  4. What Most of Daft Punk’s music is considered French House which is a sub-genre of house which has influences from both disco and punk. French house relies heavily on sharp cut-off and phaser effects along with some elements from both American and European disco. Daft Punks albums are Alive (2007), Daft Club (2004), Digital Love (2001), Discovery (2001), Homework (1997), Human After All (2005), Musique Vol. 1 (2006). They also did the sound track for Tron Legacy (2010). Their sales are good, but not the best I would have to say. They have been nominated 4 times for BRIT awards, nominated 6 times for the Grammy awards and has won 2 Grammy’s.

  5. When Guy-Manuel was born on February 8, 1974 and Thomas was born 1 year after that on January 3, 1975. The duo started off in a band named Darlin’ but once the group disbanded it left Guy and Thomas to experiment with music. They sold their first album in 1997 but they did not become famous until 1999 during the Homework era(the Homework era is the time period in which the album Homework was created and released and goes from 1993-1999).

  6. Where Both Thomas and Guy-Manuel were born in Paris, France and met while attending the Lycée Carnot School. Right now they are still living in Paris and are doing quite well. I would say their music appeals more to the people of France where they living and that one reason might be that they would be more popular with the public around them because they are French.

  7. Why The reason I chose to do this artist is because I like some of their songs and I love the helmets. I think the reason they are so popular is because of their unique and not as popular style of music and because they are kind of mysterious. Also if you haven’t noticed they are very good!!

  8. How For this presentation I had 2 options; to either to do Skrillex or Daft Punk. I chose to do Daft Punk because Daft Punk is a lot cleaner than Skrillex and Skrillex would be hard to present for that reason. The first time I found out about them was actually while watching Tron: Legacy my dad pointed them out. There claim to fame was through their first album: Homework.
