  3. George Washington • George Washington was the Commander of the Continental Army for the Americans. Washington fought a long war with inexperienced men and eventually defeated the best Army in the World: The British. As for his showings of bravery he was elected the first president of the United States of America. Return to Main Menu

  4. Benjamin Franklin • Benjamin Franklin was an important part of the American Revolution. Franklin was an inventor and innovator. He also was like a father figure to many politicians when he attended the first and second Continental Congress. Return to Main Menu

  5. Thomas Jefferson • Thomas Jefferson was an important political figure of the revolution. Jefferson is mostly known for writing the Declaration of Independence, which stated that the colonies were not to be ruled by England. Jefferson also attended both Continental Congress’.   6. Paul Revere • Paul Revere is known for warning the people of Boston that the British were on their way to attack. He is famously quoted for saying “The British are coming! The British are Coming!” Revere is one of the most symbolic people of the revolution. Return to Main Menu

  7. King George III • King George was the King of England during the revolution. King George bullied and taxed the Americans which ultimately started the revolution. King George eventually let the colonies be a free independent nation. Return to Main Menu

  8. Alexander Hamilton • Alexander Hamilton was an important member of the political aspect of the revolution. Hamilton is known as one of the smartest men in dealing with the economy. Hamilton took over many aspects of spending for the revolution, because of this Alexander Hamilton became the first Secretary of Treasurer under George Washington. Return to Main Menu

  9. Benedict Arnold • Benedict Arnold was one of the best American generals at that time. Arnold won the Battle of Saratoga with the Green Mountain Boys. Unfortunately for the Americans, Arnold felt like he did not get the respect he deserved and switched sides to help the British. Arnold is known as the biggest traitor in American history.   10. Henry Knox • Henry Knox was also another great general during the revolution. Knox was great for anything war, whether it be tactics or fighting, Knox knew his stuff. Henry Knox became the first Secretary of War under George Washington. Return to Main Menu
