  6. Buddhism and world Peace So we Buddhists should tell to the world that there should be no more war in the name of religion. When our religious leaders met, they said that we should not allow the world to wage war in the name of religion. There is no justified war. If you want to wage war, do it, but do not justify it in the name of religion.

  7. From this, then, follow three types of peace studies:NEGATIVE PEACE STUDIES: how to reduce-eliminate negative relations.POSITIVE PEACE STUDIES: how to build ever more harmonious relations.VIOLENCE-WAR-ARMS STUDIES: the intent and capability to inflict harm ‘If you want to make peace, you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.’ Theory of peace

  8. Buddhism and peace Ajjhattikasanti is peace of mind. The Buddha said: Natthisantiparamsukham: There is no higher bliss than peace. The starting point in Buddhism as regards word peace is that we should cultivate inner peace(Ajjhattikasanti) in the mind of men. So peace of mind, or inner peace, is a prerequisite for outer peace in our interpersonal relations. Religious practice can bring peace to our minds.

  9. Cittaŋdantaŋsukhaāvahaŋ. • A trained mind is the cause of real happiness. • Citaŋgutaŋsukhāvahaŋ. • A well-guarded mind brings about happiness.

  10. The Noble Eightfold Path and The Four Noble Truth The Noble Eightfold Path The Four Noble Truth are: The truth of suffering The origin of suffering The cessation of suffering The path leading to the cessation of suffering 1. Right view 2. Right thought Wisdom (Pāňňā) 3. Right speech 4. Right action 5. Right livelihood Ethical Conduct (Sila) 6. Right effort 7.Right mindfulness 8. Right concentration Mental discipline Concentration (Samadhi) Buddhism preaches loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative, and equanimity, benevolence and respect for the lives of all.

  11. peace of mind • Nothing gives peace of mind better than • the feeling of doing no wrong, having no sins, and having no secrets to hide.

  12. The Buddha taught that peaceful minds lead to peaceful speech and peaceful actions. If the minds of living beings are at peace, the world will be at peace. • Buddhist perspective: three types: inner peace; peace in the community of humankind; and ecological peace or peace with Earth. • The fundamental goal of Buddhism is peace in all universes, but the first step on the path to peace understands of peace. • Every religion mentioned about peace, but Buddhism clearly explained to achieve peace.

  13. *"In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher." * "I am a simple Buddhist monk - no more, no less." * "My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." * "This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness." * "All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness ... the important thing is they should be part of our daily lives." * "The very purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticize others. Rather, we must criticize ourselves. How much am I doing about my anger? About my attachment, about my hatred, about my pride, my jealousy? These are the things which we must check in daily life." * "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion." • List of Quotes on life, Buddhism and peace * "It is maybe not the best choice to have a favorite anything." * "It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come." * "Human happiness and human satisfaction must ultimately come from within oneself. It is wrong to expect some final satisfaction to come from money or from a computer." * "Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength." * "Buddhism does not accept a theory of God, or a creator.

  14. PEACE EDUCATION THEORY Peace Education is about empowering people with the skills, attitudes, and knowledge: * To build, maintain, and restore relationships at all levels of human interaction. * To develop positive approaches towards dealing with conflicts -from the personal to the international. *To create safe environments, both physically and emotionally, that nurture each individual. * To create a safe world based on justice and human rights. * To build a sustainable environment and protect it from exploitation and war. Peace education is based on a philosophy that teaches nonviolence, love, compassion, trust, fairness, cooperation and reverence for the human family and all life on our planet. Skills include communication, listening, understanding different perspectives, cooperation, problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, conflict resolution, and social responsibility. Peace education leads to peaceful living.

  15. World Religions for World Peace 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 The principles discussed so far are in accordance with the ethical teachings of all world religions. I maintain that every major religion of the world - Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism Has similar ideals of love, the same goal of benefiting humanity through spiritual practice, and the same effect of making their followers into better human beings. All religions teach moral precepts for perfecting the functions of mind, body, and speech. All teach us not to lie or steal or take others' lives, and so on.

  16. World Religions for World Peace 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 If all religions make the betterment of humanity their main concern, then they can easily work together in harmony for world peace. Interfaith understanding will bring about the unity necessary for all religions to work together. Each religion has its own distinctive contributions to make, and each in its own way is suitable to a particular group of people as they understand life. The world needs them all. We practitioners of different faiths can work together for world peace when we view different religions as essentially instruments to develop a good heart - love and respect for others, a true sense of community. The most important thing is to look at the purpose of religion and not at the details of theology or metaphysics, which can lead to mere intellectualism.

  17. Conclusion Non-violence brings peace. Not to be in sight of the evil person is a source of happiness. Not to do any evil. To cultivate good. To purify in our mind and respects to all living beings.
