  5. A professional business document that reads as one • Type – 12 point minimum • Bind • Format • Layout • Clear headings • Content, company name, summary, appendices • Use of images • Colour or black and white

  6. Know how you’re measured – read the rules

  7. The cover • Company name, school and Enterprise Teacher • Business Mentor and their company • LEAP Company • Interim or final accounts • Maximum 10 sides plus cover + 5 pages accounts+ optional 3 pages marketing flyers, advertising etc. • Copy size 12 point minimum • Page one must begin with a contents list and a summary to include • Company name • Mission statement • Product/service • Summary of financial products • Summary statement of company performance • Explain how far you have come…….not just your success • The judges want to see how good you are at Problem Solving

  9. What three things do you want the judges to remember? • Think it through before you start to write • What will be on each page? • Could your sections be more clearly headed? • Have you highlighted your best points enough? • What is the one point to EACH paragraph? • Chuck out the chintz, cut the waffle • Does the order and layout take the judges eye exactly where you want them to go? • Spell check, read it, spell check, read it

  11. Interim Report • must show provision for LEAP VAT, and any interim payment. Also to include balance sheet, profit and loss account to date • Company accounts • must be prepared to company liquidation date, showing LEAP VAT, balance sheet, profit and loss account to date • Either should be verified and signed by your advisor
