  1. Philippians 3:12-14 • Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. • Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, • I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

  2. Winning The “Game Of Life”

  3. Life Is Not Actually A “Game” It is the ultimate reality! • Life is eternal – Gen. 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 15:49-52 • Life is short – James 4:14-16 • Life is won or lost – Matt. 16:26 • Life is lived once – Heb. 9:27 • Life is individually lived – 2 Cor. 5:10

  5. How Can I Win The Game Of Life?

  6. Learn The Giver Of Life Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matt. 11:28-30). Jesus is the giver and sustainer of life: (John 1:1-3; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 1:1-3)

  7. Listen To The Book Of Life • All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works (2 Tim. 3:16-17). • The Bible is God’s word (2 Pet. 1:20-21). • No one can lead himself (Jer. 10:23). • God gives wisdom (Prov. 2:6). • God has the words of eternal life (John 6:66-68). • God’s word is the truth (John 8:31-32; 12:48; 17:17). • God’s word has all things that pertain to life (2 Pet. 1:3).

  8. Leave The World Behind • The world’s wisdom is not God’s wisdom (Rom. 1:18-25) • The world’s ways are not God’s ways (Gal. 5:19-25) • The world’s allegiance is not with God (Matt. 12:30) • The world’s destiny is not with God (2 Thess. 1:7-9)

  9. Some Practical Helps: • Be obedient (Eph. 6:1; Prov. 1:10ff) • Give honor (Eph. 6:2; 1 Pet. 2:17) • Guard your heart (Prov. 4:23) • Control yourself (Gen. 3:6-11) • Work hard (Ecc. 9:10) • Be honest (Rom. 12:17; Rev. 21:8) • Admit mistakes and try again (Psalm 51:1-4) • Obey the gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
