  1. Egypt…Hope

  2. I will trust and worship the God of hope.

  3. Trust

  4. Exodus 3:7-10 (NLT) Then the LORD told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians…

  5. …and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live….

  6. …Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”

  10. Worship

  11. • Preparation

  12. Exodus 12:3 (NLT) Announce to the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each family must choose a lamb or a young goat for a sacrifice, one animal for each household.

  13. Exodus 12:6-8 (NLT) Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb or young goat at twilight….

  14. …They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the animal. That same night they must roast the meat over a fire and eat it along with bitter salad greens and bread made without yeast.

  15. Exodus 12:12-13 (NLT) On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the LORD!...

  16. …But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.

  17. • Repetition

  18. Exodus 12:24-27 (NLT) “Remember, these instructions are a permanent law that you and your descendants must observe forever. When you enter the land the LORD has promised to give you, you will continue to observe this ceremony….

  19. …Then your children will ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’ And you will reply, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. And though he struck the Egyptians, he spared our families.’”…

  20. …When Moses had finished speaking, all the people bowed down to the ground and worshiped.

  21. • Confession

  22. Exodus 19:4-5 (NLT) You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

  23. 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 (NLT) Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us….

  24. …So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.

  25. Hebrews 6:19 (NLT) This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
