Where do we start? • Students have to be inspired before they can design • Blank paper will not encourage good drawing or design • Achievable targets must be the first aim – for all • Good presentation will inspire • Past work must be displayed or available • Use a mix of CAD and traditional • Start Pro/Desktop early • Stimulating Resources

  3. National Curriculum New Orders • Creativity is now part of the new orders as from September 2008 • National Strategy was launched to encourage designing and drawing

  4. Progression during Key Stage 3 • What do you want students to be able to do by the time they get to year 10? • Year 7 – Isometric, rendering, Pro/Desktop, lettering • Year 8 – 2 point perspective, Orthographic projection • Year 9 – Further Pro/Desktop, Exploded views
