Description: SilverBlue™ Protein Staining Solution is a ready-to-use solution for a highly sensitive staining of proteins separated in polyacrylamide gels. SilverBlue™ contains Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 dye. Due to the property of the dye to form colloidal particles, proteins are preferentially stained without significant staining of the gel matrix. The linear dynamic range of SilverBlue™ extends over two orders of magnitude which is superior to Coomassie R-250. The stain does not contain toxic methanol or acetic acid. Instructions:- Quick Protocol: 1. Washing (only for SDS containing gels): • Place the gel into a tank and add 100 ml of deionized or distilled water • Put the uncovered tank with the gel into a microwave oven and turn on high power for 1 min. Do not boil • Take out the tank from the microwave oven and continue washing with gentle agitation for 7 min • Discard the wash 2. Staining • Add 20 ml (or enough to cover the gel completely) of SilverBlue™ Protein Staining Reagent • Put the uncovered tank into a microwave oven and turn on high power for up to 30 seconds until boil • Take out the tank from the microwave oven and continue staining with gentle agitation for 20 min • Discard the staining solution 3. Washing (optional): • Add 100ml of deionized or distilled water and rinse for 5 min • Discard the wash and add 100ml of deionized or distilled water for gel storage - Conventional Protocol: 1.
