  2. 7 Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, … "

  3. 7 Then the LORD said, "Ihave surely seenthe affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and Ihave heard their cry because of their taskmasters. Iknow their sufferings, 8 andIhave come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, … “

  4. 10 So now, go!I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

  6. God often chooses to work through people.

  7. Matthew 28:19-20a Go therefore and make disciples of all peoples (all ethnic groups), baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

  8. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how can they hear, unless someone tells them? And how can anyone tell them without being sent? (Romans 10: 14-15a)

  9. God wants to work through you to do something that only He can do!

  10. “Who am I, that God would want to work through me?”

  11. 11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I,that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?"

  12. God said, “Iwill be with you, ...”

  14. 11 But Moses said to God, "Who am Ithat I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" 12 God said, "I will be with you, ...”

  15. God often works through people. - ordinary people; - people who have had an encounter with the Holy God

  16. Exodus 4:1 Then Moses answered, "But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, 'The LORD did not appear to you.'" 2 The LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A staff."

  17. 3And God said, "Throw it on the ground."

  18. So Moses threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent! And Moses ran from it.

  19. 4 Then the LORD told Moses, "Pick it up …"

  20. "Pick it up …by the tail!"

  21. … so Moses reached out his hand and caught the serpent, and it became a staff in his hand.

  22. 5 "that they may believethat the LORD, the God of their fathers, … has appeared to you."

  23. 13 Moses said, "Please, LORD, send somebody else."

  24. 17 And take in your hand this staff, with which you shall do the signs."

  25. God used an ordinary shepherd’s staff in the hand of Moses to do extraordinary things!

  26. 4:20 So Moses took his wife and son, put them on the donkey, and headed back to the land of Egypt. Moses took the staff of God in his hand.

  27. (Exodus 4:2) The LORD said to Moses, "What is that in your hand?“ Today God is asking each one of us: "What is that in your hand?“

  28. God will use in a mighty way that which we give to Him for Him to use in His service!

  29. God Will Use the Ordinary to Accomplish the Extraordinary

  30. Exodus 3:1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. 3And Moses said, "I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned."

  31. 4 When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." 5 Then he said, "Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground." 6 And he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

  32. 7 Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

  33. 9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

  34. 11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" 12 He said, "But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain."

  35. 13 Then Moses said to God, "If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' what shall I say to them?"

  36. 14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" 15 God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.'

  37. 16 Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, "I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt, Exo 3:17 and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, … , a land flowing with milk and honey."'

  38. 18 And they will listen to your voice, …
