  2. Function of the Urinary System You Urinary system is made up of four organs that produce, store, and obliterate wastes. It cleans blood & maintains the body’s water levels.

  4. Humans have two • Goal is to filter water soluble materials • Develops urine • Regulates electrolytes • Maintain pH system Kidney

  5. Collects urine and stores it for elimination. Bladder

  6. Connects bladder to the outside. • The endpoint for elimination of waste. Urethra

  7. Small tubes that connect the kidney to the bladder. Ureters

  8. Links to Organs Links to Systems Blood is filtered in through the Kidneys where they develop urine from Urea and water. The Ureters send the urine to the Bladder where it is stored until it is time to be sent to the Urethra and out the Body. • Nervous System-Impulse is sent to bladder. • Cardiovascular System-Blood is filtered to Kidneys to restore water and pH balance. • Digestive System-creates wastes that is filtered and eliminated. • Endocrine System-The Pituitary gland controls retention of water. • Immune System-Sends cracker cells to problem sites in the Kidneys. • Respiratory System- Gives oxygen to the Brain, which sends nervous impulses to the bladder to expel wastes.
