  5. Resources for R+D+i are below UE-15 average Resources for R+D+I as % of GDP Increased resources have allowed for a significant increment in the number of scientific publications. The Spanish contribution increased up to 3,05% in 2006 over its relative economic weight. INGENIO 2010 Goal : reach 2% de GDP in 2010.

  6. Private funding is below UE-15 average Prívate contribution to Total R+D resources (%) Despite the low and negative trend of private R+D funding, the number of patents is increasing. In 2006 there were 1100 requests, a 60% increase from 2004. INGENIO 2010 Goal : reach 55% of private R+D funding in 2010.

From a Trilateral Call to a Joint Research Programme: • MEC fully support the creation of a PLANT – KBBE joint research programme and will: • Provide relevant financial support (to be definedupon the approval of the new National Plan) • Foster the constitution of public – private partnership (PPP) by the creation of appropriate funding instruments • Provide scientific and administrative support for project evaluation and programme management • Contribute to strengthening the European dimension of the initiative by favouring the participation of new partners
