  2. The Civil War • 5thGrade History • (4) History. The student understands political, economic, and social changes that occurred in the United States during the 19th century. The student is expected to: • (D) describe the causes and effects of the Civil War;

  3. Analyze Learners My lesson plans will address to all learning styles; auditory, visual, and kinesthetic The children are in 5th grade so at this age level they are more accepting of different learning styles.

  4. Lesson Plans • This will be a week long lesson • The first day I will have the children read the chapter over the civil war and go over it with them. • The second day I will explain to the children that we are going to reenact the causes of the civil war • Also this day I will pick the kids and give them the scripts for their parts • Their homework will be to read over their scrip's and try and memorize it.

  5. Lesson Plans Cont. • On the third day the students will have a play rehearsal in the classroom setting. • Once again their homework is to study their scrip’s • On the fourth day the students again will have a rehearsal in the classroom and this will be the last practice. • Homework again is to look over the script • On the fifth day the students will demonstrate their play to the other fifth grade classrooms.

  6. Evaluation For the evaluation of the content I will have the kids make a movie presentation over the subject using the website www.xtranormal.com The video must depict either the causes or the effects of the Civil War.
