The TIR Carnet The number of Customs offices of … Departure + Destination = maximum of FOUR • No reloading is permitted (All Customs offices of departure to be before the first Customs of destination) • TIR Holder should clearly fill in the TIR Carnet so that Customs can easily add /cross out from the goods manifest the loaded / unloaded goods • The goods should be loaded so that the first consignment can be unloaded without unloading the other consignments.

Comments to Article 18 Using TWO TIR Carnets- consecutively TIR Holder can use TWO TIR Carnets consecutively - each TIR Carnet must cross at least one border • Can allow up to 7 Customs offices of departure / destination for a single consignment • Each TIR Carnet must refer to the other and be presented together.

Comments to Article 18 Using TWO TIR Carnets - with split consignment A TIR Holder could use TWO TIR Carnets for the same TIR Transport by splitting the consignment • Each TIR Carnet covers a separate load compartment or container • Each TIR Carnet can have a maximum of FOUR Customs offices of departure + destination • Customs enter on every TIR Carnet page a reference to the other TIR Carnet (for Customs use)
