  1. Name that Fallacy! If you can’t answer these correctly, you are a failure as a human being.

  2. Name that Fallacy! Anthony and Marie have a heated argument. During their fight, Anthony tells Marie that he hates her and wishes she would get hit by a bus. Later that evening, Anthony receives a call from a friend who tells him that Marie is in the hospital because she was struck by a bus. Anthony immediately blames himself.

  3. Name that Fallacy! Alex is running for SBO president. In his campaign video, he says, “Taj doesn’t deserve to win. He smokes and steals candy from children.”

  4. Name that Fallacy! Dana is trying raise money for her university’s library. In her address to the board of trustees, she says, “We must raise tuition to cover the cost of new books. Otherwise the library will be forced to close.”

  5. Name that Fallacy! Jeff is preparing to create a commercial for a new energy drink. He visits a local high school and surveys students in an English class about their beverage preferences. The majority of the class says it prefers grape-flavored drinks, so Jeff tells his superiors that grape is the flavor favored most by high school students.

  6. Name that Fallacy! Bill: "I like classical music and I think it is of higher quality than most modern music." Jill: "That stuff is for old people." Dave: "Yeah, only real woosies listen to that crap. Besides, Anthrax rules! It Rules!" Bill: "Well, I don't really like it that much. Anthrax is much better."

  7. Name that Fallacy! The drop-out rate for high-school students would decrease to almost nothing if classes were smaller.

  8. Name that Fallacy! Brad Pitt attends a rally to oppose gun control. He urges all rally attendees to contact their local representatives and urge them to keep Americans’ 2nd amendment rights intact.

  9. Name that Fallacy! A satisfied student says: “Ms. Watts is the most successful teacher Cottonwood has ever had because she's the best teacher in this school’s history!”

  10. Name that Fallacy! A student who was sluffing class was shot during a convenience store robbery. His neighbors, in discussing the tragedy, point out that he wouldn’t have been killed if he’d been in class (where he was supposed to be) in the first place.

  11. Name that Fallacy! More than two-thirds of the student body participates in some after-school activity, such as sports, service groups, drama club and dance. Because 100 percent of the student body does not participate, all of these activities should be canceled.
