  2. Tutoring • Attention Students: • Saturday’s have now been added to our tutoring schedule beginning on 10/18 from 8:30-10:30a.m. • Open gym will follow at 11:00a.m. • For those who attend tutoring, open gym is free. If you do not attend tutoring, you may still come to open gym sessions for $1.00 Hope to see you all there!

  3. Higher Education • ATTENTION STUDENTS: • The FAU Expo - College Tour and Football game scheduled for Saturday October 18th is free to all students. Bring your friends and family out to this exciting event. • If you would like to attend the FAU Expo as a part of the LWHS tour group, pick up a field trip form from the college and career center ASAP. We will be taking only 50 students on the bus. More information is available in the College and Career Center • Students going to the FAU Expo with Mrs. Ford this Saturday • In order to attend the trip you must check your email for a voucher sent to you from FAU. Print out the voucher and bring your school id. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND WITHOUT YOUR VOUCHER AND ID. • The bus will leave Saturday at 8:30 and return by 3:30. Please bring money for lunch. • Juniors and Seniors: FAU Honors College is having an open house on Saturday, November 1. See our school website for more information.

  4. Higher Education Juniors and Seniors: ASVAB is coming!!! All juniors are invited to take the ASVAB on Thursday, Nov 13th from 10:30am until completion around 2:30pm. Please put this on your calendars and take advantage of this awesome opportunity. The ASVAB is an interest and aptitude inventory to help you identify future career choices and/or college majors. It is free! This is an LTM day so plan to attend. More information to follow regarding location.. Seniors will be able to sign up in the counselor corner at lunch. Juniors do not need to sign up, just come. We are reserving 50 seats for seniors. First come, first serve for seniors. There is room for all juniors to participate. Hope to see you there.

  5. College Fair • Pope John Paul College Fair Monday, October 20th in the gymnasium from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Any questions, contact 561-315-2119 Pope John Paul is located at: 4001 N. Military Trail Boca Raton, 33431 • Palm Beach School District College and Career Fair is on Wednesday, October 22nd from 6-8pm. There is a new location. It will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center right across from the Kravis Center. This is open to all students and parents however 11th and 12th graders should make a special effort to attend. See you there!

  7. DRUGS ON CAMPUS • Please turn anyone attempting to sell or use drugs on campus. Up to $500 reward.   8. NO JEANS ON FRIDAY • Trash in the Café or on Campus means no jeans on Friday. • Fatra nan Café la oswasou Campus vle di pa gen Jeans nan Vandredi. • Basura en el Café o en el campus significa no jeans el viernes.

  9. Class of 2015 • Seniors you can pay your senior dues in 18-212 • All community service hours must be turned in to guidance by 12/1.

  10. Clubs • Join us weekly, every MONDAY AFTER SCHOOL FIRST PRIORITY • 3:00pm room 18-211 • Bring a friend make some new ones and join us for some FUN, FOOD and FELLOWSHIP, see you there and expect the unexpected!!! • The next Wall Street Society Club meeting will be on Monday, October 27th in the media center computer lab. Please come with ideas for an item to sell during the last 2 weeks of this semester in December ( holiday related ) • SHAPE club will be meeting in the library, Friday October 17, 2014 at 3:00 pm

  11. National Honor Society • Please remember that all students who are applying for membership in National Honor Society must submit their applications packets by October 24 in room 14-203. • Also for current members, the school cleanup will be held on October 28th at 300 pm. Plan to meet in Mr. Kubrick's room - 14-203. We will provided trash bags and gloves. You will need to provide water for yourselves if you attend.

  12. Clubs • Attention all Students!!!!! • Your Teens for Literacy Club is on the move. • We will meet this Wednesday and every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Mrs. Grant's Room 18-209!! • Come and be a part of a great group of students who will change the face of Lake Worth High. Debate Club • Please remember to attend the Debate Club meetings, held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 To 5:00 pm. • We have several important topics to discuss. If you want your voice to be heard, please attend! Thank you, Mrs. Carr . • Meeting of the Yearbook Club in Room 2-107. For the rest of the First Semester the Yearbook Club will meet EVERY Thursday afternoon after school.

  13. Haitian Honor Society Attention Haitian Honor Society members: • Our next kick off event for members only is scheduled for November 12th at 3:30-to 5:00pm. Location is to be announced. Come join us for this wonderful historic, cultural event. We will have haitian food, entertainment and a motivated guest speaker. Please remember to pay your dues in advance. We will not accept any money at the door. See Mrs. Tabuteau or the club treasurer NerlineMildort in Guidance Corner during 1st lunch.   14. Sports • Girl's Basketball Tryouts will be held on Tuesday October 21st and Wednesday October 22nd at 3:00PM in the Gym. You must have your physical and $10 tryout insurance fee to participate in tryouts. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Baker. • Boy's Basketball Tryouts will be held on Monday October 27th and Tuesday October 28th at 3:00PM in the Gym. You must have your physical and $10 tryout insurance fee to participate in tryouts. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Smith. • The mens and womens bowling teams swept Glades Central Yesterday. High bowlers were Jamily Jefferson and AbhinavJoshi. • Also, please congratulate the following 4 bowlers who were invited to participate in the County Championships Tuesday, and wish them luck. • JamilyJefferson, Samantha Sanford, Joshua Miranda, Abhinav Joshi"

  15. Blood Drive • THERE IS A BLOOD DRIVE ON OCTOBER 31ST. PLAN TO DONATE AND SIGN UP IN THE CAFE. WE WANT TO BEAT OUR LAST DRIVE OF 102. • SCIENCE CLUB MEMBERS- PICK UP YOUR LEE FORMS FOR THE BLOOD DRIVE. THERE IS A MANDATORY MEETING ON THE 29TH FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TRANSPORTATION. NO ACTIVITY BUS PASSES. • TEACHERS- IF YOU DO NOT LET STUDENTS OUT OF YOUR CLASS TO DONATE BLOOD, PLEASE INFORM THEM TO CHOOSE ANOTHER PERIOD TO DONATE. YOU CAN EMAIL ME AS WELL. MRS. HERTZ
