Mrs. Krause’s Classroom connection September, 2013 A Note from the Teacher Important Reminders • Please be sure to check your child’s red file ach day! • Mrs. Krause is providing snack this month, so please do not send a snack for your child. • Please be sure to label your children’s coat/sweatshirt. We have already had some friends misplace their jackets. • Book orders are due back on Friday, September 27th. We are off to a great start in Mrs. Krause’s room! We are getting to know each other and learning how to be a “student”. I am enjoying learning about each of your children. We will continue to work on procedures and routines. I keep individualized water bottles available for each student. I am hoping some of you would be willing to contribute a case of bottled water to replenish the supply. What We’re Learning… Language Arts Science In science this month, we will be learning about seasons. This month we will begin to learn how to take care of books, and what it looks like to read to self. In writing, we will begin “Writer’s Workshop and learn about the writing process. Math Social Studies Patterns, sorting, and shapes is our focus this month in math. We will also spend some time learning how to write our numbers In social studies, we are learning about classroom and school rules. We have also created our own classroom promise to help each of us be successful in our class.
