  6. Outcomes • By the end of this orientation sessions, scholars will have: • Been welcomed back to the start of the 2014-2015 school year • Reviewed the objectives for this orientation session • Received information on the plans and initiatives of our Student Government Association

  11. Did you know that according to last year’s waste audit, 75% of the waste Wilson produces is eitherrecyclable orcompostable?Ain’t that cool?Let’s put our trash in the right bins and do our part to protect our environment.

  12. In classrooms & offices, you can ONLY RECYCLE CLEAN PAPER PRODUCTS. Everything else goes in the black trash bins. Okay to recycle in the BLUE bins: • paper w/ scotch tape or staples • colored paper • post-its • paper w/ pen/pencil/ink markings • crumpled paper • cardboard

  13. In the cafeteria & atrium, we will compost AND recycle! We need volunteersto help monitor the bins and educate students on the new program. If you’re interested and want community service hours, please tell us!

  14. In hallways, teacher breakrooms, and common areas like Room 416, we will recycle clean paper products and empty containers (plastic, tin, glass) in separate BLUE bins.

  17. Seniors: Get *free* tickets to a Nationals baseball game against the the Atlanta Braves on September 8 @ 7 pm! Just text or Facebook message Jennifer Li with your name & the number of tickets you want (max 5 per person). There are only 80 free tickets left, so reserve yours ASAP.

  18. Are you a freshman interested in joining SGA? You can get 60+ community service hours each year for your hard work w/ SGA! We will host an interest meeting on Wednesday, September 3 in room 309 during STEP aka lunch. There are four positions available: Class President, Class VP, Trea$urer, and Secretary. We would love to have you join the team!! (P.S. The perks are great.)

  19. Mr. Cahall has officially declared the first Friday of every month as College Day. Wear your college gear to school and help us create an environment where students are encouraged to pursue higher education and realize their full potential. As always, if you have questions regarding the college process, drop by Room 108A (College and Career Center).

  20. This year you might have a different counselor than you did last year, but don’t worry; your previous counselor will be more than happy to write your college recommendationif you prefer. Please make a point of getting to know your counselor and showing your appreciation for all their hard work! 
