  1. From Cave C to R3B: Time Schedule 2008 Experiments with upgraded setup: proton arm, Si detectors, QFS detection system 2009 Implementation of new readout electronics for LAND and Crystall Ball New Proposals to GSI-GPAC early 2009 (ideas: neutron-rich beams, QFS, clustering, charge-exchange, ...., EoS) Experiment with present setup ? (Ushasi Datta Pramanik et al.) Experiments using different setups: Spallation measurements (Jean-Eric Ducret et al.) Hyper Nuclei (Take Saito et al.) 2010 Experiments with upgraded setup in Cave C: QFS + Coulomb with n-rich beams Implementation of low-energy neutron-detector 2011 (p,n) reactions: Gamov-Teller, Spin-dipole Implementation of 10-20% R3B demonstrators 2012 Experiments with NeuLAND and CALIFA demonstartors, first layer recoil detector? 2013 Setting up in new R3B hall 2014 First commission experiments with full R3B setup with Super-FRS beams at FAIR Constraints: Funding periods, TDRs, Cave C availability, beam-time availability, manpower, ...) no constuction/funding before TDR approved, reports necessary at beginning of funding period)

  2. Time Plan Calorimeter PLANNING 2008 ============= Dec 2008 - Mechanical Design, Definition of the Barrel electronics PLANNING 2009 ============ Technical status report Dec 2008 In beam barrel prototype characterisation Jan 2009 CMAM, Mar 2009 DARMSTADT, Jun 2009 UPPSALA Final choice BARREL photosensors Jun 2009 Slow control (temperature, V stabilisation) Dec 2009 PLANNING 2010 ============== Integral BARREL Solution (Final design mechanics, slow control, electronics) Jan-Feb 2010 TDR for the Barrel ---> MAR 2010 ==> begining 2010 start BARREL Construction Definition of the crystal + photosensor choice for the Forward endcup Jun 2010 In beam prototype tests for Forward endcup Dec 2010 PLANNING 2011 ============= ==> First half 2011 BARREL Demonstrator BUILT (~ 20% of BARREL) Final choice FORWARD crystal+ photosensors Mar 2011 Slow control FORWARD (temperature, V stabilisation) Mar 2011 Integral FORWARD Solution (Final design mechanics, slow control, electronics) Jun 2011 TDR for the FORWARD ---> JUN 2011 ==> start FORWARD construction ==> Second half 2011 Experiments Cave C with BARREL Demonstrator (debugging) PLANNING 2012 ============== ==> First half 2012 Integration of Barrel PLANNING 2013 ============= ==> Integration of FORWARD ............

  3. Technical Design ReportsReviewing Procedure Letter from the FAIR research director Zbigniew Majka: Dear Tom.At the FAIR JCT Research Coordination Meeting we suggested to the FAIR STI that:" There are 3 deadlines per year to hand in TDRs: April 30, August 31 and December 31."This was approved by the STI.There are two possible procedures of the TDR evaluation. The RCG will organize the Referee Group Meeting with TDR authors (if necessary)or will ask referees for written reports only and I will prepare summaryreport for the STI Meeting approval. In summary. If you send to me the TDR before the December 31 the evaluation should becompleted within maximum four months.Best regards,Zbigniew

  4. Perspectives'We will get the full experiment in working condition' (L.V. Chulkov) RIB Reactions in complete kinematics High Resolution measurement • Target • Tracker • Calorimeter Neutrons Protons Heavy fragments • Neutron-proton asymmetric nuclei – structure and reactions • Nuclear astrophysics • Asymmetric nuclear matter • Hypernuclei Large acceptance dipole

  5. R3B Collaboration Board Topics to be discussed - Who writes the minutes - (Joined) Collaborations meetings, next place and date - FAIR – China meeting - Status of I-MoU / Signing, Funding applications, Update of money matrix ? Update I-MoU, new MoU ? - Constraints concerning TDRs, pre-reports etc necessary for funding - Experiments and proposals 2009 – 2014 - Publication policy - Replacements in the R3B Management Board – Time Schedule and procedure - AoB
