Headlines in Afghanistan Times September 1/2010 • US troops, Afghan politicians targeted in deadly week end. • Roadside bomb kills five US troops in eastern Afghanistan. • Seven US troops killed in various incidents • Afghanistan bomb attacks kill twenty one US soldiers in 48 hours • Five Afghan parliamentary election campaign workers and a female candidate killed. • Oxfam employees killed in Badakshan blast. • Five policemen wounded in roadside blasts. • 3 Supreme court employees killed and 12 seriously wounded in Kabul. • No clue about four female doctors abducted in Faryab province • Girls flee homes to avoid forced marriages. • Survey indicates 20 million acres of land has been seized by powerful people and groups- warlords and strong men.. • Afghan judicial organs weak and suffer from corruption. • Government has little control over 26 out of 34 provinces • Taliban presence spreads to provinces which earlier had zero presence of the Taliban
