  6. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • You must be operational in Banner 8.0 with Student, HR, and Employee Self Service • Security will be provided by Web Tailor Roles and Banner HR Controls November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  7. Considerations for Implementing FLAC Data flow: • Banner HR Banner Student Faculty Record, Assignments, & Load data SIAASGN Banner HR Employee Information PEAEMPL Extract Process for Compensation Calculations and View In Employee Self Service November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  8. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • In Employee Self Service, the FLAC administrator edits the course work to add classes, stipends and incremental pay attributes, and delineates out overload • When complete, the FLAC administrator allows the employee to view their courses and pay, and if the institution desires, can have the employee acknowledge their assignments on-line. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  9. Considerations for Implementing FLAC Compensation data is applied to Banner HR on NBAJOBS It either creates the job or edits the existing job November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  10. Considerations for Implementing FLAC Allows the institution to reconsider who does what when assigning courses and pay to faculty. FLAC provides a collaboration opportunity for schedulers, Provost, and HR November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  11. Considerations for Implementing FLAC FLAC can be implemented in varying degrees, or phases. At a minimum, institutions can implement the NBIJLST look up on SIAASGN Entering this data facilitates the XE, EB and EJ MIS reports November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  12. PTRINST Enables or Disables Position Validation on SIAASGN

  13. SIAASGN Recommendation: Give the SIAASGN user access to NBIJLST and teach them position and suffix coding. Develop Suffix configuration coding and add the legend to the local dynamic help

  14. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • Student Data in FLAC • You Do NOT need to use the Faculty Load analysis tools to use FLAC • FLAC rules require the use of College, Campus, and Contract Type for each term • The fewer of these values you have, the easier it is to maintain rules • A unique FLAC rule form exists for Contract Type (establishes base rules), Schedule Type, and Non-Instructional codes. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  15. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • Student Data in FLAC • Be prepared to “rediscover” how a schedule of classes can be built • 95% of schools build the schedule just to meet the perceived needs of students or to ensure that it “looks pretty” or “saves space” in the printed schedule November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  16. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • Student Data in FLAC • Several key aspects all depend on the schedule entry • Room utilization • Faculty Load • MIS XB, XF, and XE reports • 320 report November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  17. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • Student Data in FLAC • The MIS and 320 reporting requirements force schools to define the schedule in ways that compliment FLAC • Be prepared to re-assess your Schedule codes • Be prepared to revise Non-Instructional codes November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  18. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • FLAC uses the Position Class settings that are on the position selected in SIAASGN • Position Class • Salary Group, Table, Grade Inserts Step 0 • Bargaining Unit • FLAC applies the Reg Pay Earning Code (RP attribute) from the Employee Class, as one unit November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  19. Considerations for Implementing FLAC • FLAC applies the job change reason you set up for each upload from Self Service to NBAJOBS • Jobs can be edited in NBAJOBS as any manual entry • Updates from FLAC can be made with the upload process November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  20. Considerations for Implementing FLAC You may want to “deconstruct” your Salary Tables if they incorporate other pay… …For example, longevity or professional growth may be added to your tables or identified by the grade. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  21. Considerations for Implementing FLAC These can be added, instead, with the new rules associated with the courses, level options (new in PEAFACT) or added earn codes, just as you would add them to default earnings. Premium pay may need further assessment for each institution. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  22. Considerations for Implementing FLAC These can be added, instead, with the new rules associated with the courses, level options (new in PEAFACT) or added earn codes, just as you would add them to default earnings. Premium pay may need further assessment for each institution. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  23. Considerations for Implementing FLAC View of Job Detail Page Illustrates setting/configuration options that can be uploaded into Banner November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  24. Administrator can override any pay component –System will store and report calculated and overridden.

  25. Accounts determined from Schedule Override, Current Position Assignment, or Position Budget. When multiple courses are assigned to the same position, Labor Distributions are distributed in proportion to the course value.

  26. Considerations for Implementing FLAC Position, NBAPOSN, set up may also be altered to make the most of FLAC functionality Review coding intelligence to teach it to Student module users. November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com

  27. Considerations for Implementing FLAC Luminis Channels for Banner • Channels have been added to Luminis Channels for Banner for FLAC • • Faculty Compensation Administration • Faculty Compensation and Acknowledgment • Refer to the Luminis Channels for Banner Handbook for instructions November 5, 2019 | www.sungardhe.com
