  7. Though pop culture glamorizes the idea of pimps and pimping, Forcing someone to degrade themselves, and profiting from it, is true exploitation

  8. Sexual Exploitation Includes Prostitution • Street • Internet • Gang • Sexual tourism • Labor candy sale magazine sales Adult Entertainment • Explicit Movies & Pics • Exotic Dancing • 900 Phone Lines

  9. Who get’s exploited this way? • Any one can get exploited • Men • Women • Children Boys and girls

  10. Who exploits? • Pimps • Traffickers domestic and international • Gang members • Boyfriends

  11. Exploiters may… Manipulate: Always wanted to be a singer? An exploiter might promise to make you a star...

  12. Exploiters may… Trick: “You’re so beautiful. You should be a model, or an actress!” “Let’s take some pictures for your portfolio…”

  13. Exploiters may… Trick: or simply, “You wanna’ make some money?”

  14. Exploiters may… Play on your fears: “If you don’t do this, I’m going to show your Mom the pictures we took”

  15. Exploiters Recruit using: My Spacebackpage Personal Contact (They hang out where teens do – malls, schools, football games, etc.) Someone your age to help recruit you

  16. Relationship Red Flags • He asks you to do things that leave you feeling guilty or shameful • To convince you he says things like, “Do it for us” or “You’d do this if you loved me” • Love and Abuse are tangled together • He has way more power in the relationship

  17. Relationship Red Flags • He is controlling - constantly checks up on you • He gets you to do what he wants by threatening or hurting you • He doesn’t allow you to have boundaries – You’re not really allowed to say “no”

  18. If you feel someone is trying to exploit you or a friend, You can:

  19. Tell a trusted adult – Family Member Counselor Teacher

  20. Call the police
