  3. Andrea Jung: Remaking Avon • It took 118 years for Avon to recognize that a woman should run the company. • It took Andrea Jung just 6 years to show Avon that she was that woman.

  4. Biography • Born in 1959 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada • Was married to Michael Gould and they had two children:a daughter and a son. • Her mother was born in Shanghai and was a chemical engineer • Her father was born in Hong Kong and was an architect • has one younger brother, Mark

  5. Education • Jung is a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University with a degree in English literature • is fluent in Mandarin

  6. Career • 1979–1985, vice president and merchandising manager at Bloomingdale company (FIRST BUSINESS SUCCESS); • 1985–1987, general merchandising manager , J. W. Robinson ; • 1987–1991, senior vice president and general merchandising manager , I. Magnin ; • 1991–1994, executive vice president , Neiman Marcus ;

  12. Our opinion: • What did Andrea Jung, shows the whole world that a women can put up a business like a man. It needs ambition and, what is most important, to love what she do.
