  1. ‘How To’ Multi Camera Techniques

  2. Camera, for performer The audience

  3. 1st Clip – Drake ft The Weekend – Live, Wireless Festival 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBcy5-m-izU

  4. Coverage of Action I would say that the coverage of the Drake concert at Wireless is very good, it really focuses on the correct points at the right times, some coverage includes short quick clips then either focuses on the crowd, there are a lot of close ups of him when he sings just standing emphasizing the lyrics. The coverage also includes side angles so the camera has been paced at an angle where it makes it interesting to view. There are also shots from behind him to give a glimpse of the crowd, overall the coverage has been done very well to ensure to make it entertaining to the viewer. Communicating (meaning to the viewer) The communication to the viewer in this case is the audience. The communication is through the performer to the audience when he talks to the audience and sings with them and asks for more of their participation to the concert , that’s the communication.

  5. Visual Style The visual style of the concert is obviously very nice and we see that through the camera, it focuses on different aspects of the concert and you see the beauty of the stage and all the people. Maintainingviewer Interest Maintaining the viewer interest, in this case maintaining the viewer interest would be through the music. Through the camera it would be making sure that they focus on the singer.

  6. Constraints of studio or location Environment The location of Wireless Festival 2012 (Drake) was at Hyde Park, and the biggest constraint would be the crowd, however saying that they do manage to get around it and make it very entertaining. Multi – Camera simultaneous recording Multi – Camera simultaneous recording, this is recording that is does in sections and then edited and put together, in this concert it looks very good it’s very professionally done and goes well together.

  7. 2nd Clip – Formula 1, Australia, Melbourne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jBup5kHmDU

  8. Coverage of Action The coverage of action at the Formula 1 Australian, Melbourne Grand Prix was very good. You’d think that covering a Grand Prix would be hard especially live, they make it look so easy! There is a big camera attached to long machines that extend, they are operated by people. Other coverage that you see comes from the car, they attach a camera to the top of the car and the side pods and the back of the DRS systems on the car, this gives you the chance to see from the drivers point of view. Overall I think that the coverage of the Grand Prix was really good. Communicating (meaning to the viewer) Communicating to the viewer in terms of a live F1 Grand Prix would be through commentating, live commentary whilst the racing.

  9. Visual Style Visual style, well it’s a Grand Prix so it’s all about the track and the cars, and we see all that trough the cameras, everything more in detail. Maintainingviewer Interest Maintaining the viewer interest, keeping the camera shots all interesting and capturing exciting moments for the audience.

  10. Constraints of studio or location Environment The constraints of a Grand Prix maybe would be the fact they can only shoot from the grass areas, this would probably be the only constraint because they have other ways of capturing the footage, on a helicopter. Multi – Camera simultaneous recording Multi – Camera simultaneous recording, this is recording that is does in sections and then edited and put together, in the case of the Grand Prix, yes the footage has been put together very well, it runs very smoothly.

  11. Camera for host Camera for guest Camera for audience AUDIENCE

  12. 3rd Clip – Jonathon Ross with Eminem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWN0PRJidBs

  13. Coverage of Action So the coverage of the action here is by the camera’s in the studios, and this is more easier to do, they will have maybe 2 camera’s one each focusing on either Eminem or Jonathon Ross. You see both of them clearly. Overall I think the footage is very good. Communicating (meaning to the viewer) Communicating to the viewer so the audience, sometimes the host might or the guest, the camera usually follows what they do.

  14. Visual Style The visual style of the setting is all very nice and you see that through the camera, it focuses on everything so you get to see it. Maintainingviewer Interest Marinating viewer interest, in this case could be focusing the camera more on the guest because that's what the audience wishes to see, humour is also included.

  15. Constraints of studio or location Environment The constraints could be that the studio may be too small for liking, the audience, but despite that they manage to capture all the footage nicely. Multi – Camera simultaneous recording Multi – Camera simultaneous recording, this is recording that is does in sections and then edited and put together, in this case all the shots have been taken really well, and put together well as well.

  16. 4th Clip – Friends http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TskSEcpBRmY

  17. Coverage of Action Coverage of the action for Friends, because it’s studio based it’s done in scenes. It’s not live so it makes things slightly easier, it’s a set so everything is there according to what they require to film it. Overall the coverage works really well. Communicating (meaning to the viewer) They communicate through the sitcom to the audience it’s humorous, so the audience will find it funny.

  18. Visual Style The visual style are the actress's and actors in the series, along with the set that the camera focuses on. MaintainingViewerInterest Well it is a sitcom, so by maintaining the viewer’s interest it’s meant to be comical, so the camera was always focusing on funny things, the script is made to be funny, to make the audience laugh. So all this maintains the viewers interest.

  19. Constraints of studio or location Environment Constraints could include tight working space, to be honest I don’t think that there would be to many constraints on something like this because they can adjust it to how they want it to be. Multi – Camera simultaneous recording Multi – Camera simultaneous recording, this is recording that is does in sections and then edited and put together, in the case of this sitcom, the scenes are taken then edited to bring it all together. I think it has been done very well.
