  2. Who needs to be able to write this genre? Why? • Students going into the veterinary profession and veterinarians. • Students will need to know information on the microorganism and will have to know how to treat the parasite and the kinds of medication available for the patients. • Veterinarians will need to be able to write our handouts for the clients to read over so they are aware of the parasite and how to care for their animals

  3. How is it written? • Gathering information and doing some research on the parasite. • Explaining more about the parasite • How the parasite is transmitted to the animal • Clinical signs • How to diagnose • Treatment options

  4. Steps to writing my genre • 1. Introduction of coccidiosis • 2. How the animal became infected with coccidia • 3. Clinical sings od coccidia • 4. How the animal can be diagnosed with coccidia • 5. Treatment of coccidia • 6. If coccidia can be transmitted to humans

  5. Format of my genre • Question & Answer format What is coccidiosis? Coccidiosis is an intestinal tract infection caused by a one-celled organism or protozoa called coccidia. Etc… • Includes a diagram and picture:

  6. Style of genre • Easy for clients to read. • A few terminology involved Ex: Cryptosporidium parvum, Isosporacanis, sub- clinical infections
