  2. Driving Question How can we make an informational picture book that illustrates the geographical location and features, living organisms, non-living things, jobs, and food sources that are found in our marine important environment?

  3. Purpose • Create a Picture Book that illustrates the geographical location and features, animals and food sources, man-made structures and water craft, and associated careers associated with our marine environment. • Develop an understanding and foster an appreciation for the ecological marine environment found in the urban environment in which the students live. • The Charleston peninsula is surrounded by three important bodies of water that create a unique environment. • This marine environment is home to a variety of marine animals and birds. • It is also filled with bridges, docks, and water craft that support recreation and careers. The Charleston Harbor is home to two important ports. • The ultimate intent and goal of this project is to develop a lifelong understanding, appreciation, and love of this unique local marine environment.
