  5. GOAL to provide an evidence base for influencing global, regional and national processes on land to enable secure and equitable access for poor women and men in the face of increasing CPL

OBJECTIVES • To increase understanding of the current and anticipated impacts, trends an possible opportunities • To produce a regional and a global comprehensive overview of various CPL, their impacts on poor people’s access to land and NR • To ascertain and analyze impacts on land-insecure households, in terms of land tenure systems, poverty reduction and Food Security • To explore possible policies and operational solutions • To provide an informed basis for a collaborative response of interested ILC members and partners

  7. OUTPUT A global report to be released in late 2009, that presents a global stocktake of existing and anticipated impacts of CPL, impacts on the tenure security of poor land-users, and recommendations for policy and operational responses.

  8. Actors, roles and responsibilities • Interest group: all organizations interested • Advisory group: those directly involved • Editorial group: those involved in writing intermediate and final products • ILC Secretariat: facilitation and Dgroup

  9. work plan Scoping study ILC Member aGter has been contracted to undertake an initial study to: • Conceptualize the problem, including analyzing different ways in which the general issue could be addressed, which specific aspects will have to be included and at what level • Review available studies and identify existing gaps • Identify main stakeholders in the collaborative exercise and recommend on possible inclusions • Define the parameters of the initiative • Recommend on roles in undertaking the main research project • Define how the ILC Secretariat can facilitate a call for case studies to integrate the core research Production of report On the basis of the scoping study results, this second phase will lead to the finalization of the global report through contracted researchers (Editorial Group) working together on different aspects of the study.
