  2. Syllabic Consonants(음절성 자음) 본문내용 The transcription of words with syllabic consonants can cause some trouble when you are just learning to transcribe. Transcribe each of the following words phonemically, using syllabic consonants where relevant. Remember that not all instances of /r/, /l/, /m/, and /n/ are syllabic consonants. (97p. 9th question)

Syllabic Consonants(음절성 자음) *발음기호로 옮기는 학습을 할 때 음절성 자음이 있는 단어의 발음기호화 하는 과정에서 몇 가지 문제점이 있을 수 있다. 다음의 각 단어를 음소적 기호로 옮겨 보시오. 그러나 /r/,/l/, /m/, /n/이 언제나 음절성 자음이 되는 것은 아니라는 것을 기억하시오. *음절은 글자모양으로 구분하기 어렵기 때문에 발음으로 음절을 구분한다. 대개 모음이 음절을 가지지만 자음으로도 음절을 가진다. 발음기호의 음절의 구분은 모음과 성절자음으로 나뉠 수 있다. 성절자음 : 발음 기호상 이 위의 자음은 앞에 모음이 없고 바로 자음이 있을 경우이 자음들은 예외적으로 모음의 역할을 하게 된다 성절자음은 [n, m, ŋ, l, r]- 이 다섯 가지 Ex)prison:[prɪzn] /prɪi/와 /zn/
