Equality in Businesses Programme IGUALEM BACKGROUND AND REGULATION FRAMEWORK 1996-2006 Development of the Optima Programme: Integration of Equal Opportunities en Human Resources management of Andalusian Businesses. Implementation of affirmative action plans Order of May 31st 1996 from Presidency Regional Ministry by which the figure of collaborative entity in Equal Opportunities between women and men is created. Distinction to 45 andalusian businesses that adopted an affirmative action plan Organic Law 3/2007 of March 22nd on the effective equality between women and men. It regulates Equality Plans and the adoption of measures for equality in businesses and the bargaining of collective agreements Law 12/2007, of November 26th for the promotion of Gender Equality in Andalusia The Regional Government urges businesses to attempt a balanced presence of women and men in their executive boards Equality in Businesses Programme (IGUALEM) 2007-2013 Strategic Plan for Equality of women and men in Andalusia 2010-2013

Equality in Businesses Programme IGUALEM EQUALITY IN BUSINESSES PROGRAMME IGUALEM It is a programme developed by Women Institute of Andalusia, in cooperation with the Regional Branches of the Trade Unions UGT and CCOO, cofunded by ESF and attached to the Regional Strategic Framework of Andalusia (MER-AN) 2007-2013. AIMS Integration of the principle of equal opportunities between women and men in businesses management as a quality and innovative element, fostering new ways of planning work. MAIN ACTIONS - Advising to Andalusian Businesses for the design, starting and follow-up of Equality Plans - Elaboration of necessary instruments for incorporating equality in business management - Equal opportunities training addressed to enterprises.

Commitment of the Enterprise with the Equality of Opportunities Implication of staff and participation throughout the process Training in Equality Issues PHASES FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EQUALITY PLAN Starting Actions and Follow-up of the measures Design, bargaining and development of measures Knowledge of the enterprise situation with regards to Equality of Opportunities

APPROVED MEASURES IN THE RECONCILIATION AREA • Inclusion in the collective agreement of those questions related to permissions and leaves in terms of reconciliation. • Flexitime (in starting and finishing hours) to make compatible working hours with school and nursery’s timetable. • Establishment of grants for nurseries or signing agreements with centres for children’s care. • Grants for expenses in taking care for children or dependent people during training courses, when these courses are out of working hours. • Creation of a labour exchange list with experts in assistance and caring or dependent people. • Offering the possibility of accumulating breastfeeding hours to make use of them in a flexible way. • Offering paid leaves for medical visits and for accompaniment of children or dependent people.
