  2. A is for adventure land • Adventure land park was built in the year of 1975. The first full season of adventure land began in 1975.

  3. B is for black squirrels Black squirrels can live where ever the gray squirrels can live. They are mostly in Iowa.

  4. C is for cattle • Female cattle are called cows male cows are called bulls and babies are called calves. • Cattle gaze about 8 hours a day.

  5. D is for Des Moines • Des Moines is Iowa's state capital. • Des Moines is an important city in the United States presidential politics as the capital of Iowa.

  6. E is for Eagles • Eagle nests are built in large trees near rivers or coasts. • Eagle bones are light because there are hollow.

  7. F is for flood The flood came so fast it wiped out most every corn field in Hamburg. Omaha Nebraska was hit by the waters to.

  8. G is for goldfinch • The goldfinch is the state bird. • The goldfinch was adopted In 1933.

  9. H is for Hawkeye stadium • The Hawkeyes are a football team. • University of Iowa is located in Iowa City, Iowa.

  10. I is for inventors • Their were fourteen inventors in Iowa. • John Froehlich was the first person to invent the first gasoline powered tractor.

  11. J is for john Deere • John Deere was the first steel plow. • They are now biult in waterloo Iowa.

  12. K is for kitchen delights • The food we grow here are like corn, squash and beans. • The ground is fertile so we can grow these things.

  13. L is for • Log cabins are made from trees, straw, glass, soil, mud, and farming bricks. • One advantage is it has a puncheon flooring not a dirt floor. • A disadvantage is it is a fire hazard.

  14. M is for music men Music Man Square is in Mason City, Iowa. The Music Man was Meredith Wilson who was born in Mason City. He had a huge career as a musician, composer, conductor, author, and radio personality.

  15. N is for native Americans • Some Europeans considered native Americans. Native Americans owned the entire land.

  16. O is for Oak Iowa designated the oak as the official state tree in 1961. The oak was chosen to be the state tree because it provided food, shelter, and nesting for animals.

  17. P is for pioneers • The men farmed and butchered. • Pioneers wear lots of liars of clothes to stay warm.

  18. Q is for Quick • Quick use to be a town, it had a grocery store and post office. • It still has the Masonic Temple.

  19. R is for Ronald Regan • He was the 1980 president of the United States. • Regan began a radio career as a sports broadcaster for a radio station in Davenport, Iowa.

  20. S is for sod houses • Sod houses are made with sod, timber, grass, and mud. • They are located in northwest part of the state during early Iowa.

  21. T is for tornadoes • In 2008 Cedar Rapids tornado hit a Boy Scout Camp called Little Sioux, Iowa. • Four boys were killed.

  22. U is for Underwood • Underwood is not a county seat. • Underwood is in southwest Iowa.

  23. V is for Villisca axe murder house • The Moore family witch consisted J.B. Moore, his wife Sarah and his four kids were liked in Villisca. • There were many different possibilities for suspects.

  24. W is for Frank Lloyd Wright • He is one of the best architects. • He designed the Stockman House in Mason City, Iowa. • IT is the first Prairie School house designed in Iowa by Wright.

  25. X is for X-ray. • X-rays were invented in Iowa. • You can see bones with them.

  26. Y is for yardsticks • Yard sticks were made in Iowa. • Yardsticks were made in Iowa.

  27. Z is for blank park zoo • The Blank park zoo is rated one of the highest contractions in the state of Iowa. • The zoo includes lots of different animals.
