Diversity & Culture in Sportsmanship • Superintendent request • Office of Diversity and Department of Athletics collaborative effort • Objective: Generate inclusive environments to support universal sportsmanship • Attempt to see through the cultural lens of a diverse population • Principals and AD’s • Message to other school based administrators • Ultimately, an awareness of Jeffco’s changing demographics

Sportsmanship Summit • Prior to winter sports • Every school represented – student driven • Mix groups; AD facilitator • Agenda Purpose – improving sportsmanship; student impact What is acceptable/unacceptable behaviors Activities before, during, and after contests – themes • Brainstorm and share out. • PSA to student body (Coaches Choice)

  5. SPORTSMANSHIP STATEMENT (Read at each game) Members of the Jefferson County League believe that good sportsmanship is the cornerstone of a quality athletic program. The Jeffco School District expects that all student-athletes, coaches, and spectators will strive to represent the qualities of good sportsmanship. Failure to do so may lead to loss of privilege to attend district sponsored athletic events. (Name of School) requests your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Sportsmanship; It’s how we play the game! Thank you.
