And…How much time of your life did you spend travelling? • Przhevalsky about 11 years • Reporter-What places did you visit? • Przhevalsky-Well. On my first expedition I traveled from Irkutsk to central Siberia. I saw Lake Baikal, visited Urga, crossed Mongolia and the Gobi and into China. • Reporter-Is it true that you covered quite a distance of the equator in all your expeditions?

In all my expeditions I covered a distance of 31000 kilometres Quite.a distance when you think that the equator-the circumference of the earth- a little over 40000km. • Reporter- but…Were your expeditions only about traveling? • Przhevalsky- of course not. I made maps of the places I visited, brought back new plants and discovered animals we had not seen before. • Reporter-And what about a new horse? • Przhevalsky-Yes… I discovered the camel, but it is the horse that made me famous. It is small, about size of a pony. Its coat is a red colour, but its mane and tail. are dark.
