  1. Fresco Pigment Dispersions for Sale | Water Based Dispersion Aqueous pigment dispersions are pigments premixed and dispersed in water ready to use with fresco. Pigment dispersions from RublevColours contain only naturally-derived ingredients, in addition to pigment and water, making them ideally suited for traditional and natural mediums. Unlike other dispersions made for acrylic medium, they do not contain solvents, artificial dispersants and additives that interfere with natural mediums.

  2. Maya Blue Maya Blue, developed by the Maya who ruled Mesoamerica from about 290 to 900 C.E., is a remarkable pigment based on a blue dye precipitated onto clay. The blue is perhaps the most striking color used by Maya artists, a color so extraordinary that it generated much research and debate among scientists for more than 50 years. What is particularly interesting about Maya Blue is that, despite long exposure to light and high humidity for centuries, it hardly fades. Its unprecedented stability, defies exposure to alkalies, acids and chemical solvents.

  3. Ultramarine Blue (Green Shade) Ultramarine Blue is a synthetic inorganic blue pigment consisting of a double silicate of aluminum and sodium with sulfide and occurs in nature as a component of the semi-precious stone, lapis lazuli.RublevColours Aqueous Dispersions are pigments dispersed in water ready to be mixed with water-based mediums. These dispersions are especially made for use with traditional painting mediums, such as egg tempera, casein tempera, fresco, watercolors and distemper (glue tempera). They are also ideally suited for use with gesso to make toned grounds for drawing and painting.

  4. Verona Green Earth Verona Green Earth aqueous pigment dispersion is the mineral glauconite, a greenish earth of hydrated iron potassium silicate. Highly prized by painters, our Verona Green is a warm bright green earth from mines near Mount Baldo, Italy.

  5. Yellow Ocher Light Yellow Ocher Light aqueous pigment dispersion is from ocher deposits in the French quarries of Gargas and Rustrel nested in a 12 mile long enclave in the heart of the Luberon Mountains, the ocher country.

  6. Spanish Red Spanish red is a brown red natural earth based on hematite deposits in Spain containing 85% iron oxide. It is a strong tinting color that is opaque.RublevColours Aqueous Pigment Dispersions are pigments dispersed in water ready to be mixed with water-based mediums.
