Technology Commercialization from National Labs • Reviewing technologies from National R&D labs • Ongoing collaboration with CDFD (DBT National Lab) to commercialise technologies developed at CDFD by forming venture teams (CDFD-IKP Fellows) • Unique experiment in India ; if successful could become a sustainable commercialization strategy for National Labs • CDFD-IKP Fellows to work on technology validation at CDFD • Visit IKP once a week to discuss IP strategy, market strategy, business plan, valuation, finance and interact with companies at IKP • Offered 20 acres land to CDFD to build its permanent campus at IKP campus • Would result in long term collaboration Erstwhile ICICI Knowledge Park

Addressing the Funding Challenge • Focus areas: Pharma, medical devices & diagnostics, wireless technology, automotive infotronics • Around 70% proposals received for investment focus on serving large underserved populations • In talks with govtdepartments, Wellcome Trust, Gates Foundation Erstwhile ICICI Knowledge Park • USD 400,000 Seed Support Fund for incubating ideas/proof of concept • USD 22 mn early stage Venture Fund • Objective: To support IP based innovative companies during its proof of concept period and make them ready for the traditional VC market
