  3. who we are • Rural association engaged in holistic development of our region • 12 Municipalities (600 Families) • Working in the Alto Magdalena area & outlying communities since 1978

Global Context • Globalization versus local development • Products for the global market versus self sufficiency • Mono culture & single industry versus diversification • Legislation for global market versus national legislation and local practices. • Money as an end or money as an instrument ($ variable for life or Life as a variable of Money) Genocide, ecocide and ethnocide • Inclusion or exclusion

  5. What is the social economy for? • To answer local and immediate necessities • To include people and communities that are excluded from the current model • To develop alternatives in social and economic practices • To develop new values and paradigms about life
