  2. BUPT Abstract • This presentation describes the warning signal transmitting requirement in 802.11ah taking healthcare case as an example. • Content of presentation: • Background • Efficiency requirements of first aid • Extended Warning Signal Transmitting Use Cases • Features of warning signal transmitting • Straw poll

  3. BUPT Background- Use Case 1e/1f : Healthcare Monitor Monitoring data

  4. BUPT Efficiency Requirements of First Aid • EPTM: Emergency Platinum Ten Minutes • EPTM is a well accepted concept in emergency treatment. • If victims can receive professional suggestions in self-rescuing, the probability of surviving will be increased. • EGOH: Emergency Golden One Hour • EGOH is a time window of rescuing lives for both wound emergency and chronic patient emergency. • If abundant information can be offered to doctors, the treatment will be more successful.

  5. BUPT Efficiency Requirements of First Aid Hospital/Home Application Scenario

  6. BUPT Extended Warning Signal Transmitting Use Cases • Use Case 1a: Smart Grid –when power failure by accident in critical area, or other affairs those may cause danger in smart grid are detected. • Use Case 1c : Environmental/Agricultural Monitoring –when fire or other disasters are detected. • Use Case 1d : Industrial Process Automation Attributes –when machine shuts down ,too high temperature or other accidents are detected. • Use Case 1g : Home/Building Automation/Control –when leakage of gas, break of water pipe and other accidents are detected. Signals in these conditions should be treated as warning signals and should be transmitted with very little delay.

  7. July 2011 Features of Warning Signal Transmitting • Emergency Access Mechanism must reduce transmission delay of the emergent packet while the transmission of normal data frame is little affected. • The features of warning signal: • A range of vital signs are at a low rate (<1kB) e.g. temperature, pressure or heart-rate reading. • The number of this kind of signal won’t be too large. 8. Straw Poll 1 • TGah shall consider the warning signal transmission requirement for most use cases that is critical for the applications. BUPT
