  6. Education 2019 Climate and Health Education Tour Every steering committee member will deliver a Virginia Climate and Health 15 minute power point presentation to a clinician office outside of Northern Virginia.

Advocacy November 2018Steering Committee member Gail Bush, BS , RRT-NPS appointed to Virginia Air Board March 2019 VCCA table at VA ACP Annual Meeting April 2019 Resolution to Medical Society of Virginia to support worker heat safety standard January 2018 and 2019 General Assembly Advocacy Day 2018-Present Supporting VA joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative Written comments, Op Eds, hearings and press events “My patients are the manual laborers who work outside during the hot summer, they’re the elderly, children and low income people who feel the effects of climate change the most,” Dr. Janet Eddy with Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action, said.

  8. New VDH Climate and Health Working Group VCCA members attended 3/5 listening tour events. First meeting in Richmond June 10th. Invitees include many experts who presented at our conferences.

  9. Membership • Clinicians = all inclusive of front line health care providers: Physicians, Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs), Clinical Pharmacists, Therapists, Case Managers etc. • Over 300 general members • ~15 members in the Steering Committee • Geographically concentrated in Northern Virginia and Richmond, with goal to have a stronger presence throughout the state

Organization • VCCA 1.0: a gathering/congregation/gaggle of interested individuals • VCCA 2.0: Steering Committee with folks that remain committed, lead by Chair • VCCA 3.0: Formalization of Bylaws, vote of confidence for Chair, nomination and vote for of Vice-Chairs, establishment of committees and Chairs of those committees, liaisons to professional and environmental organizations • VCCA 4.0: In the future, perhaps a 501(c)(3) with Board or be part of a national non-profit
